What should I include as an 'Apparatus' in Halligan? 

Any vehicle used by your department

Add New Apparatus

  1. From the Home page, select Apparatus in the left menu.  
  2. Select Add Apparatus. 
  3. Complete the know information for the apparatus and click Create. 

Edit or Customize an Apparatus

  1. From the Home page, select Apparatus in the left menu. 
  2. Click on the name of a specific apparatus. 
  3. Select Edit. 
  4. Make changes to information fields found in any of the tabs along the left menu. 
  5. Click Save to complete. 

Create an Apparatus Checklist

Each apparatus can have many checklists associated with it.

  1. From the Apparatus Listing Page, select an apparatus. 
  2. Click Edit to the right of Checklists. 
  3. Click Create New Checklist.   
  4. Give your checklist a Name.
  5. Create your first Category within your checklist.  EXAMPLE CATEGORY: Engine
  6. Click the '+' to Add a Check Step.  At least one step must be added for your category to be saved.  Choose the type of check that is required
  7. Give the Check step a Title and Description.  EXAMPLE CHECK STEP: 'Check engine coolant level.' 
  8. Choose a Mapped Ticket Type if you would like a Work Order to be created when this check is failed.  
  9. Click Save

Rename the Apparatus Checklist

  1. Select an Apparatus
  2. Select the name of the checklist from the dropdown
  3.  Click Options
  4. Choose Edit. 

To edit the name of a Category within a Checklist, click on the pencil icon

To edit a Check Step within a Category, click the title of the Check Step 

Associate a Checklist with an Apparatus (Copy Checklist)

If you would like multiple apparatus to have the same checks, first build the check for one apparatus, then copy to others using the following steps.  

  1. Select an Apparatus
  2. Select the name of the checklist from the dropdown
  3.  Click Options
  4. Choose Copy. 

*Note: Modifications made to a copied checklist will not modify the original.

To copy a Category within a Checklist, click the double square icon.  Categories can either be copied to checks on other apparatus or to other checks on the same apparatus. 

Delete an Apparatus

From the Apparatus tab, select the apparatus name and click Delete.

However, if what you would like to do is remove an apparatus from service, or change which unit it is assigned to, select the In Service/Out of Service toggle.  

Start Apparatus Check 

An Apparatus Check can be started from either your Desktop or the Halligan Mobile app.

View Apparatus Check History

Halligan saves a full copy of every check ever performed on an apparatus. Regardless of whether a check is done on a mobile app or through the desktop app, the full history will be viewable from either device.

Click the Apparatus tab and select an apparatus. Click Checklists to see a history of all reports.  Scroll down to see reports submitted in the past.
